About Us

Racquet Network specializes in teaching adults and children how to rally and play outdoor tennis at a recreational level. We also provide opportunities for new players to meet other players at their level and become involved in Calgary’s tennis community.

ADULT TENNIS PATHWAY

STEP 1 – Tennis for Teens & Adults
STEP 2 – Tennis Express
STEP 3 – Learn to Rally
STEP 4 – Learn to Serve
STEP 5 – One Week Tennis Leagues

Racquet Network has programs in place at several tennis facilities in Calgary to help players take all five of the steps above. Players meet other players at their level at every step along the way. Some players become friends. Some become rivals. Either way, players in our programs often tell us that they are playing tennis more often and at a higher level than at any other point in their lives.

Step 1 – TENNIS FOR TEENS & ADULTS

This five-lesson program starts at the beginning and teaches players how to hit forehands, backhands and serves. Players who have never had professional instruction should start here. Self taught players who want to learn correct techniques should start here as well.

Step 2 – TENNIS EXPRESS

Tennis Express gets players playing points and keeping score. Players who have completed Step 1 or who have had lessons previously should start here. Instructors spend absolutely no time teaching good technique. The goal here is to get players started playing tennis regardless of the level of their technique or ability.

Step 3 – LEARN TO RALLY

This recreational tennis lessons program for adults is open to beginners who want to learn how to rally successfully and consistently. Instructors use a variety of ball, targets and tools to help students build on the things they have learned in Steps 1 and 2. Students who have played previously and who are looking to get the rust off, can start here.

Step 4 – LEARN TO SERVE

This recreational tennis lessons program for adults is open to beginners who want to learn how to serve successfully and consistently in tennis. Participants are taught a basic first and second serve by a certified tennis pro. Those who are ready are also taught spin serves and kick serves.

Step 5 – ONE WEEK TENNIS LEAGUES

One week tennis leagues give players an opportunity to join a league for one week and assess whether or not they are ready for organized tennis. Each league runs Monday to Friday during outdoor tennis season. Players may join as many one-week leagues as they want. Many players alternate between taking lessons and practicing what they have learned in our one week tennis leagues.
